ownCloud has launched their Security Bug Bounty Program. The new offering is set to add an additional layer of security to their EFSS solution. The company is partnering with HackOne to make the new system possible.
Bug bounty programs, like this one, are a popular way for companies to help increase the security of their products. OwnCloud has an in-house security team and help from many of the 800 contributor community already working to keep the open source enterprise file sync and sharing software secure.
The company uses security audits and penetration tests to ensure the program has enterprise-grade security capabilities.
