Their professional audience selected ownCloud as the best among its competitors.<\/p>\n<p>The main reason for this has been the increasing interest in security and data protection. With the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/General_Data_Protection_Regulation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new GDPR by the EU<\/a>, taking effect next year, data privacy and security continue to be a huge topic and ownCloud delivers the perfect solution.<\/p>\n<p>Many of you have not only voted for ownCloud, but also spread the word for ownCloud. Without you we would never have received this honour.
