Here comes Spreedbox, a fully open source, secure videoconferencing solution<\/p>\n<p>Following the trend of privacy-respecting products and projects coming out of Europe (e.g., <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itworld.com\/article\/2827389\/cloud-computing\/owncloud--the-cloud-sharing-service-you-control.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ownCloud<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itworld.com\/article\/2919076\/unified-communications\/open-source-kolab-ready-to-take-on-office-365-google-apps.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kolab<\/a>, and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.itworld.com\/article\/2952189\/linux\/kde-community-announces-fully-open-source-plasma-mobile.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Plasma Mobile<\/a>), German firm <a href=\"http:\/\/www.struktur.de\/\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">struktur AG<\/a>\u00a0has started a Kickstarter project called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/spreed\/spreedbox-the-most-private-video-chat-and-file-exc\" target=\"new\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spreedbox<\/a>, which aims to offer a secure audio video conferencing service. According to the project page, \u201cThe Spreedbox is a unique device for secure audio\/video conferencing, text and video messaging and file sharing.
