Today we have\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0Computacenter<\/a>\u00a0has chosen to work with ownCloud and\u00a0Red Hat<\/a>\u00a0to deliver Infinite File Service (IFS). IFS includes the ownCloud Enterprise Edition, object storage using\u00a0Red Hat Ceph Storage<\/a>, and\u00a0Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform<\/a>\u00a0to create a solution that is high performance and scales without any boundaries.<\/p>\n

Following the dismantlement of the\u00a0Safe Harbor agreement<\/a>, European companies were no longer able to store data in the US. Soon Privacy Shield will be actively in place. It is expected to be contested in court and I personally think that the regulation will not hold up \u2013 legal certainty is something else. Our customers also quote reasons like the amounts of data used, integration in existing IT infrastructure and the ability to extend ownCloud as reasons to deploy Enterprise Cloud Services. Those are often based on OpenStack or PaaS platforms like OpenShift or Cloud Foundry with enterprise file sync and share provided by ownCloud as one of the first workloads.<\/p>\n
