Unless you\u2019ve been living under a rock for the past week, you\u2019ve probably heard about the Google Docs glitch that locked users out of their accounts. This latest security issues further underscores the fact that users\u2019 do not have full control over their data.<\/p>\n
Users reported being locked out of their accounts for violating Google\u2019s Terms of Service, when in fact they hadn\u2019t. As New York Times reporter, Maya Salam, points out in her article, Google Docs Glitch That Locked Out Users Underscores Privacy Concerns<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>\u201cThe alerts were caused by a glitch, but they served as a stark reminder that not much is truly private in the cloud.\u201d<\/p>\n Salam went on to quote Rachael Bale<\/a>, a reporter for National Geographic\u2019s Wildlife Watch<\/a>, whose tweets became recognized after she, herself, was locked out a document of a story she was working on. \u201cObviously this is raising questions in a lot of people\u2019s minds about the level of surveillance in internet tools, like cloud-based tools.\u201d<\/p>\n Has anyone had @googledocs<\/a> lock you out of a doc before?
