By now I’m sure you’ve heard the news about ownCloud’s partnership with Datto. Ben Kepes wrote an awesome article about us at Forbes on Friday that pre-announced our new partnership and received a lot of attention. And today Datto officially announced our partnership at their Partner Conference in New Orleans, which we have secretly attended. Surprise!
All this excitement, but what does it mean?
It means that ownCloud will be integrated directly into the Datto SIRIS platform, giving customers complete control. They will be the ones who determine where their data is secured, governed, audited and managed, which will ensure that the customer will be compliant with the regulatory and internal policies critical to their success.
Datto’s SVP, Business Development, Rob May says that “More than 8,000 managed service providers rely on Datto for the best possible business continuity solutions for their clients. The ability to offer customers seamless collaboration without sacrificing the control and security of sensitive corporate data is an enormous value-add for Datto’s MSP partners and their customers.”
