Back in December 2017 we started to add PHP 7.2 to our continuous integration platform to get automated test results and see if we are compliant. With ownCloud 10.0.5 in January 2018 we first shipped PHP 7.2 support as tech preview for the brave ones among you.
After some months of internal QA and further test automation, confirmed by community and customer feedback, we are confident to say: we are definitely ready for PHP 7.2!
Since many Linux distributions have started to ship PHP 7.2 as the default, it is the right time now to fully support PHP 7.2. Official support starts with ownCloud Server 10.0.10, released during the ownCloud Conference 2018.
When you upgrade your PHP installation, please make sure that all necessary PHP modules fit together. You can follow the docs:

What’s next now? PHP 7.3 will be released in December 2018. We will right away start to work on supporting this version, so that we can ship this to you as soon as possible – after careful testing.
With ownCloud Server 10.0.10, we support the full range of PHP versions starting 5.6 up to 7.2, but it is highly encouraged to move to PHP 7.2 and upward. Looking at the long term support for ownCloud 10, which will end in May 2020, we aligning our support for PHP 5.6 and 7.0 with the official support, which will end in January 2019.
Upgrade now to get full support of PHP 7.2!
