Today our partner, Collabora Productivity, has announced the update to their Collabora Online Development Edition (CODE). With this new edition comes the much anticipated feature—collaborative editing.

This new update just shows the amazing work that Collabora has been doing and we couldn’t be prouder to call them a partner! This collaboration functionality has frequently been requested by both our community and enterprise users. Thanks to Collabora’s commitment to Open Source, our community now has an online office suite inside ownCloud that includes full collaborative editing. Furthermore, ownCloud Enterprise users are able access their office documents online, author new content, share your work and collaboratively work on the same document with others, while others can see changes in real time and take over editing. How awesome is that?

We have worked with Collabora intensively to make this additional functionality happen in short time. Enjoy the upgrade to CODE and let us know your feedback. An official release and enterprise support for the new functionality will be available later this year directly from ownCloud!

The main objective for Collabora is for users to take back control of their online documents and to be available in all clouds. Find out more about how you can take advantage of this awesome new update with your ownCloud.
