We have just received some awesome news. ownCloud has made top five in Linux Journal’s Readers’ Choice Awards for Best New Linux/Open-Source Product/Project following behind Docker, Jolla and Sailfish OS, and LibreOffice! But that’s not all.
If fourth place wasn’t enough, ownCloud also placed SECOND in for Best Cloud-Based File Storage biting right at the heals of Dropbox with only a 7% difference! According to Shawn Powers, “It’s hard to argue against Dropbox’s convenience and stability, but hosting your own data on ownCloud gives it quite a boost into the second-place spot.” ownCloud has beat out big names such as Google Drive, Box, Amazon s3, and SpiderOak.
