The Sincerest Form of Flattery is Imitation

Especially when you are being imitated by the "big guys" like Google.

Especially when you are being imitated by a world-wide, well-respected, don’t-do-evil company.

So I caught this news on TechCrunch today from Google. Great idea! Wait, it was our idea first. Even the same name, and to be blunt, exactly the same capabilities.

But we are open source and we’re frankly flattered by the imitation. After all, Google Drive is fully in the cloud, we’re on premises (and/or the cloud storage service of your choice) for more controllable, secure, extensible data access – and we don’t track your usage.

Well, it certainly looks like we are heading in the right direction and that the “big guys” are taking notice.
