Heading to IBM Enterprise2014 Next Week?

I’ll be there talking about how MSPs, Channel Partners, and other 3rd party ISVs can grow their businesses by offering their customers a way to better protect their data with ownCloud and IBM’s Elastic Storage.

I am, and I am very excited about the event. Billed as The Infrastructure for Cloud, Data & Engagement, IBM Enterprise2014 is being held at the Venetian in Las Vegas October 6-10.

I’ll be there talking about how MSPs, Channel Partners, and other 3rd party ISVs can grow their businesses by offering their customers a way to better protect their data with ownCloud and IBM’s Elastic Storage.

Data privacy, security and compliance have become huge issues as organizations look for the ability to share large numbers of files across multiple users across a growing array of devices. What if you could provide both the ease and convenience of the public cloud and the security and compliance control IT needs? By combining ownCloud’s file sync and share product with IBM’s Elastic Storage, Partners can create a new service offering keeping data on premises or hosted in a private cloud to provide secure, audited, scalable and policy-driven access to corporate data.

IBM’s Elastic Storage removes data-related bottlenecks by providing parallel access to data, eliminating single filer choke points or hot spots. Elastic Storage also simplifies data management at scale by providing a single namespace that can be scaled simply, quickly, and infinitely by simply adding more scale-out resources.

Anyway, I could go on, and I will, next Tuesday, October 7th, at the ISV/MSP Mashup event. If you are attending, please stop by and let’s meet up!

ownCloud Infinite Scale 8.1.0: MFA-Gated Vault Storage Arrives

oCIS 8.1.0 introduces MFA-gated vault storage as an isolated storage plane: its own provider ID, no public or federated sharing path, MFA propagated end to end, and a UI that makes the distinction obvious. Plus a public-share access control fix and roughly 60 other changes across indexing, LDAP, and connection recovery.
